The Greater New Bedford Workforce Investment Board (GNBWIB) in collaboration with the Bristol Community College workforce center is currently embarking on a Health Care Training Consortium for healthcare organizations on the South Coast.
The consortium, headed up by Paula Shiner, CEO of Coastline Elderly Services, Inc. and Chair of the Community Cross Continuum Collaborative (4C) has a purpose of assessing the training needs of healthcare organizations in Southeastern Massachusetts. Healthcare organizations range from Long Term Care to Rehabilitation to Social Services facilities. 4C training is aimed to upskill healthcare workers to meet the demands of the many changing forces within the healthcare industry.
The end result is an anticipated funding grant from Commonwealth Corporation of up to $250,000 for training. Tax credits may also be available to qualifying businesses.
