Today we celebrated a special one of a kind ribbon cutting ,and the Carney Academy Star School Store! The Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports Team (Carney Academy PBIS) at Carney Academy has developed a program the encourages students to demonstrate STAR Behavior (Showing kindness, Taking responsibility, Acting safely and Respecting everyone)

The program promotes positive behavior and attitudes for the entire student body. The Star School Store will be staffed by the students and staff from their Autism Program. The store will allow students with disabilities to learn social/emotional, behavioral and academic skills.

Principal Maria Goncalves Reidy and her incredible team were there with the students, along with Chamber staff Ian Abreu and Deven Robitaille as well as School Committeeman Bruce Oliveira to celebrate this amazing new program that had the kids proud and ready to show off their new skills. Thank you everyone for your hard work for our community's children.
